The Journal of Urbanism will be a centralised source for scholarly research on the design of the built environment within social, economic and environmental contexts.

The Journal of Urbanism will be a multi-disciplinary, international journal focusing on human settlement and its relationship to the idea of sustainability, social justice and cultural understanding. It will cover research focusing on Urban Regeneration, New Urbanism, European Urbanism, Landscape Urbanism, Urban Sustainability, Smart Growth, Livable Communities, Transit-orientated Development, Walkable Communities, Urban Morphology and a variety of other strongly related interests.

The Journal of Urbanism will appear 3 times a year in both print and online formats. It is under the editorial direction of Emily Talen, Arizona State University, USA; Charles C. Bohl, University of Miami, USA; and Matthew Hardy, INTBAU, UK.

For further information about the journal and how to submit and article, please visit www.informaworld.com/rjou.

Emily Talen, Charles C. Bohl and Matthew Hardy said: "This journal will be an outlet for research on the created human habitat – where form, pattern and design are viewed as integral to other forms of urban inquiry, from cultural meaning to economic growth."

Jonathan Manley, Urban Studies Publisher at Routledge, added: "The proliferation of research in smart growth, new urbanism and place making has created a real need for an outlet devoted to these topics. The Journal of Urbanism, guided by a team of outstanding scholars, will meet this demand and enhance Routledge’s impressive list of journals in urban and environmental studies."

To subscribe to the Journal of Urbanism, please visit the Journal of Urbanism website. To submit a paper for publication, please read the author instructions and submit your paper to journalofurbanism@asu.edu.
