INTBAU UK: Meet the Awardees of the TAG Awards 2024

The TAG Awards 2024, organised by INTBAU UK, celebrated excellence in traditional architecture and craftsmanship across five categories, including Best Measured Drawing, Best Student Project, and the new Outstanding Craftsmanship Award.

The TAG Awards 2024, organised by the Traditional Architecture Group (TAG), host to INTBAU UK, honoured exceptional contributions across five categories:

  • Best Measured Drawing 2024: Celebrating outstanding architectural illustrations, with Jago Trelawny awarded First Place for his drawing of the Eastend House in South Lanarkshire.
  • Best Student Project 2024: Recognising innovative designs by students, with First Prize awarded to Luke Alcock for his Crafthouse design in the Old Dorter Ruins of Worcester Cathedral.
  • Best Member’s Built Project 2024: Highlighting exemplary projects by members, with Ptolemy Dean Architects receiving First Prize for their work on the Aldourie Estate.
  • Outstanding Craftsmanship Award 2024: A newly introduced category, awarded to Ben Naylor and Rob Poole for their exceptional craftsmanship.
  • Lifetime Achievement Award 2024: Honouring an extraordinary career, this year’s award was presented to Léon Krier.

Best Measured Drawing 2024

This year’s winner of the £500 for First Place was awarded to Jago Trelawny for his drawing of the Eastend House in South Lanarkshire.

An Honourable Mention was given to Ben Felix for his watercolours of Granite Stake Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Another Honourable Mention was given to Minty Sainsbury, for her highly detailed pencil render of St Stephen Walbrook Church in London.

Best Student Project 2024

This year’s First Prize for the Best Student Project went to Luke Alcock, for his design for a Crafthouse in the Old Dorter Ruins of Worcester Cathedral.

An Honourable Mention went to Alex Dowthwaite, for his design for a Greek Revival Proposal for Regent St, Cambridge.

Another Honourable Mention went to Muhammad FM Malik, for his design titled ‘Reviving Heritage’ in Blackpool.

Best Member’s Built Project 2024

Once again, we received a great range of excellent Member’s Projects this year. The First Prize went to Ptolemy Dean Architects, for the Aldourie Estate.

A High Commendation went to George Lawson, for his work on Icomb Place.

An Honourable Mention went to Liam O’Connor, for The British Normandy Memorial.

Another Honourable Mention went to John Simpson and Joanna Wachowiak, for the The Royal College of Music.

Outstanding Craftsmanship Award 2024

A new category was introduced this year. Candidates were nominated by the TAG members, with many excellent applications being submitted. We are pleased to announce that the First Prize went to Ben Naylor and Rob Poole.

A High Commendation went to Philip Gaches.

An Honourable Mention went to Felix Handley.

Lifetime Achievement Award 2024

And finally, this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Léon Krier.
