INTBAU Dialogues: Disaster and Conflict Resilient Heritage

Location: Cyprus
Online attendance available
Date: 18 April, 2024
13:30 – 16:30 EEST | 12:30 – 15:30 CEST | 11:30 – 14:30 BST

Conference hosted by INTBAU Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean University, Department of Architecture. This event served as a commemoration of the International Day of Monuments and Sites, observed annually on April 18th, and themed this year ‘Disaster and Conflict Resilient Heritage: Preparedness, Response, and Recovery’.

The conference explored the initiatives undertaken by various INTBAU chapters to advance traditional building, architecture, and urbanism. From organising educational summer schools and publishing scholarly works, to aiding in post-disaster response efforts that integrate reconstruction and planning of the built environment while respecting the unique local character of regions affected by both natural and human-made disasters, such as Ukraine, Türkiye, and Italy.
