Diana Yu is currently a Senior Associate at ADAM Architecture. Trained at the University of Notre Dame, Diana specialises in classical architecture and traditional urban design. She spent her third year in Rome, studying its extensive collection of historic classical buildings and understanding as a designer how incredibly flexible, adaptable, and creative classicism can be. She was born and raised in Dallas, TX which was very much part of the fast growth, automobile-focused, suburban lifestyle. Her education and career are in some ways a reaction against the urban and architectural principles which dictated Texan suburban sprawl.
Diana became a Registered Architect in the State of Texas, USA in 2019. She is also an experienced project runner and has developed designs for projects both within the UK and abroad, across all RIBA Stages. She has a wide range of experience working on speculative housing schemes, inner-city urban regeneration projects, and residential new builds for both the public and private sectors. Outside the work, she is involved with several professional organisations to promote traditional architecture and diversity/inclusivity within the workplace. Other than taking a leading role as a member of the INTBAU Young Professionals Group, she is a member of the Young Georgians Group, the Architecture Club, and the National Association of Women in Property. Currently she also holds positions on two committees, the Traditional Architecture Group’s Event Coordinator and the American Institute of Architects UK Chapter’s, Equity Diversity and Inclusivity Chair.
