A native of the Carolina Piedmont, Patrick Lemmon is a builder who specializes in structural masonry and timber frame construction. After completing a bachelor’s degree in music and philosophy, Patrick began a three year apprenticeship with master builder Clay Chapman and the Hope For Architecture initiative. Coming on board as HFA’s first full-time apprentice, he played an integral role in forming the program. His apprenticeship focused on the design and construction of multi-century structures.
In 2016, Patrick founded Orthodox Masonry, a design/build company that offers alternatives to disposable construction by creating buildings both structurally and aesthetically resilient. The company also provides historical restoration work and HFA consultations.
Patrick’s additional projects and pursuits include developing hand-stitched leather tool pouches, researching thermal mass performance in structural masonry construction, cataloging lime mortar samples, teaching workshops, and presenting at speaking engagements.
